Aim of the project: 
This study is rooted in the field of “near-patient laboratory diagnostics”. The use of “Point-of-Care-Testing” (POCT) in neonatal HIV- diagnostics is evaluated in Mbeya, South West Tanzania. In the case of positive study results HIV diagnostics in remote areas of Africa would be improved. Aims of this study are apart from answering medical relevant questions the building and strengthening of local networks. The university hospital munich is conducting advanced trainings on a regular basis.
